The Roxbury Russet is an American heirloom apple, believed to be the oldest named cultivar originating in the United States (circa 17th century, Roxbury, MA).

It is a late-season apple with a distinctive, often heavy, greenish-yellow to bronze russeted skin (a rough, brown or yellowish coating). The flesh is firm, slightly coarse, and prized for its sweet-tart, complex flavor that improves with storage. It’s an excellent all-purpose apple, particularly favored for cider, baking, and long-term winter storage.
